F/LIST presents sustainable materials for the cabin for the first time
Today at NBAA-BACE 2022, F. LIST GMBH, experts in handcrafted interiors for business and private jets, yachts and residences, introduced the first portfolio of bio-based sustainable materials for the business aircraft sector. These innovative materials have been developed to turn the vision of a sustainable cabin into reality and expand the sustainability options for aircraft owners and operators beyond sustainable aviation fuel and carbon offset programs.
F/LAB LINFINIUM
Introducing a new era for cabin interiors, the materials are not only sustainable, but also offer tangible benefits in terms of weight, durability and functionality, while adding elegance and beauty without compromising on quality or cost. Produced according to the core principles of sustainability, the innovative materials represent new design options previously unavailable in the cabin environment.
F/LIST WHISPER LEATHER
Three new products will be presented at the F/LIST stand. F/LAB AENIGMA is the first product to come from F/LIST's multidisciplinary innovation team and lives up to its name. The decorative material has solved the puzzle of fusing traditional jewelry techniques and aerospace technology with cutting-edge chemistry to combine elements such as F/LIST stone by-products and ground mother-of-pearl pieces. "The incredible blend has evolved into a technical, glamorous material that would be equally at home on the catwalk or the runway. We are only scratching the surface with this material; the market potential for our customers is endless, " explains Melanie Prince, Head of Innovation at F/LIST, about the debut. Metallic stingray skin, glittering geometric patterns and textured luminous surfaces form the basis for the limitless variety of options that can be customized in color, texture and thickness to be used on any surface in the cabin.

F/LIST WHISPER LEATHER is a new type of flexible textile made from plant-based raw materials. Thin and lightweight, it offers a fine but durable texture and appealing tactile surfaces while leaving a low environmental production footprint. Available in bespoke colors, it can be produced in a wide range of surface finishes for sidewalls, partitions or any area where a textile material is required. The chameleon-like F/LAB LINFINIUM is a linseed-based compound with applications ranging from immovable worktops to flexible flooring and is available in a variety of textures. The compound can also integrate different materials or other elements in any desired color palette.
"We want to make a difference and encourage change by creating pragmatic, innovative solutions that support the sustainability story. These materials are a great example of how we are implementing a circular economy in-house. We develop and produce eye-catching new cabin options by reusing offcuts from some of the world's most exclusive raw materials. The products can transform customer ideas while creating environmentally friendly products that exceed expectations, last longer and can be recycled at the end of their life cycle," concludes Prince.
